Blenders: Blenders have gotten a bad rap in the past as a suitable gift but today’s blenders can do so much; from smoothies to soups, purees, and frozen drinks. They are a staple in anyone’s kitchen and would be an excellent gift under the tree.

Toaster: Ah, the dependable toaster. Perhaps the most underappreciated of gifts, it may not be the most glamorous of appliances, but you’d be hard-pressed to make perfect toast or a morning bagel without one. True, this may not be the gift you give to your new boyfriend or girlfriend, but I would argue anyone worth being in a relationship with knows the value of a good toaster!

Slow Cooker: Without question, no matter what stage of life you are in – single in your twenties, working and with kids in your thirties and forties, even later into retirement – the slow cooker makes life easier for everyone. It seems almost like magic, dump a few ingredients in in the morning, turn it on, and voilè, eight hours later you have a delicious meal, so full of flavor it would seem it took all day to prepare. Particularly in these colder months when soups and stews always hit the spot, the slow cooker is working double duty in our house.
